The vital function of the network will be as an organic agricultural learning and sharing platform among partners, where successful practices can be shared and adapted, and local wisdom and new technologies merged. This will ensure practical models are accessible for wider target groups of existing and new farmers, to integrate and apply.

Towards Organic Asia Network was formally set up in 2011, with the gathering of partners from 5 Asian countries; Bhutan, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam. The agreed aim of the network was to work with partner organizations to strengthen together the organic movement in the region by advancing sustainable and resilient approaches to food, agriculture and livelihoods, which look beyond producers to build linkages with consumers and marketing mechanisms.

Towards Organic Asia brings together practitioners, experienced farmers, young farmers, and scholars to share expertise and develop common framework and vision to promote organic agriculture in its holistic sense of agroecology in Asia.
Partners of the network come from diverse background as non-governmental organization, grassroots organization, social entrepreneur, government agency, organized farmer group, academic and research institute.
